![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Mark Haden Telephone: +44 (0)1384 346547 WEST MIDLANDS, UNITED KINGDOM - April 19, 2004 -- 65bit Software today announced the launch of the first Public Beta of EasyCatalogCS for Adobe InDesign CS. Available for download from www.65bit.com, the public beta gives customers the opportunity to evaluate the new features only found in the CS version. EasyCatalogCS brings the dynamic, two-way, linking of data to text or images to InDesign CS. By integrating with customers' existing data sources -- with can be a simple file or any ODBC compliant database such as Sybase, Microsoft SQL Sever, Oracle or MySQL -- EasyCatalogCS helps to increase productivity by providing accurate, timely, data to the InDesign client. Users may also work with multiple data-sources at once, each with it's own data presented in separate panels -- ideal where publications are produced with data from a variety of sources. New to the CS version, EasyCatalogCS now allows high volumes of data to be flowed into a document automatically -- rules can also be defined that determine the appearance of data as it is inserted into the document. Data can now also be grouped in the EasyCatalogCS panel -- this grouping can be used during pagination for insertion of group headers, for example. "We wanted to take the opportunity to not just port the existing InDesign 2 plug-in, but to offer even more features not found in contemporary products. With EasyCatalogCS, user's can flow in vast quantities of data automatically, opening the way to produce directories or price-lists consisting of hundreds of pages," said Ian White, Director of 65bit Software. "EasyCatalogCS is now able to make simple design decisions as the data is flowed in -- all products in a defined price band could be displayed differently to other products for instance. If your source data contains information, such as a style code, this can also be used to determine how the data should appear in the document." EasyCatalogCS is available immediately for InDesign CS on Macintosh and Windows, and a free 15-day unlimited evaluation version is available on the 65bit website, www.65bit.com About 65bit Software 65bit Software Limited was founded in 2003 and specializes in the development of high quality Plug-ins for Adobe InDesign and InCopy.
