New Features:

EasyCatalog

  • Added new field type in Field Options: Hyperlink. This field type will insert a hyperlink into the document -- the "Text" field content appears in the document; the "URL" is the destination address for the URL. Content from other fields can be used in both the "Text" and "URL" fields to dynamically build the hyperlink content: enter the field name within { brackets }.
  • Pagination rules (such as fit box to text) can be re-applied after an Update Document operation by holding the shift-key when selecting the menu.
  • Files with a '.dat' file extension can now be selected for CSV import.

Pagination

  • Pagination Rules: Added support for specifying whether to use the highest or lowest field content in the Position Index pagination attribute. Use 'HIGHEST {fieldname}' or 'LOWEST {fieldname}'. The record with the highest/lowest value in the given field will be used to populate the box.
  • Guide-based Pagination: Added 'collision detection'. This prevents objects being placed on top of other objects. A gutter can also be specified to place objects a specified distance from other, obstructing, objects on the page.

Scripting

  • Added "Update Furniture" function
  • Added "Paginate Using Defaults" function
  • Added Update Data Source and Update Snapshot methods on the data source object

Bug Fixes:

EasyCatalog

  • The removal of empty columns could result in panel sorting and grouping by the wrong column. This occurred when the removed column was not at the end of the record set.
  • (Macintosh) Fixes problem where fields containing new-line/paragraph breaks would draw incorrectly.
  • When using the library panel, dragging a library item to the trash button would cause the page items on selected on the document to be updated.
  • Record Viewer Panel: (Windows) Fixes flickering
  • Record Viewer Panel: Now displays a blank panel when the plug-in is not registered.
  • Fixes general problem when loading XML configuration files: error messages are now complete.
  • Fixes problem where the configuration of file-based data sources would sometimes be saved incorrectly. This would prevent the data source from opening when launching InDesign.
  • 'Update Document' operations now process boxes on master pages.
  • Better support for the use of Unicode characters within file paths (such as the workspace folder).
  • Update Furniture: Now processes anchored furniture boxes.
  • Update Furniture: A more accurate method of determining the first and last items on the page is now used. This fixes a problem where the correct field in a multi-column text box would now always be chosen.
  • Activation: "Please Wait" text now appears during internet activation of a serial number.
  • Activation: 'Activate' button is always highlighted on registration dialog and no longer relies on a product being selected in the list. The product being activated is now determined by the serial number prefix.
  • Activation: De-activate button will now only be available when all products are activated, and de-activation applies to all products.
  • Activation: Buttons are greyed out when the 'enter serial number' dialog is displayed.
  • Prevents crashing when marker attribute applied to end of thread/story character
  • No longer draws field markers on end-of-thread characters.
  • Fixes problem on drag 'n' drop where position index would be required to place records in consecutive page item groups. Restores behavior of CS1 plug-in.
  • Re-introduced the 'Auto Pickup' dialog
  • Fixes 'Convert Table to Text' problem, where table attributes would not be removed from the first cell in the table causing a crash.
  • Fixes crash when importing images into image boxes which are anchored within a table row. This only affected boxes that use CS2's new box anchoring features -- i.e. boxes that are positioned outside of the text box.

Pagination

  • Fixes problem where some field names displayed in the "Pagination" dialog would not always display properly in the field pop-ups.
  • Positional pagination now allows negative positions to be specified to position page items off the page.
  • Merge cells table attribute is now processed within table headers and footers.
  • Flow-based pagination no longer keeps inserting pages when library item will never fit on a page.
  • Guide-based Pagination: Removed "Paginate Items/Groups" popup. By default, guide-based pagination will now paginate everything selected in the panel, and the pagination rules applied to each library will be used to determine which levels to paginate.
  • Guide-based Pagination: When user clicks cancel, the pagination is no longer undone.
  • Guide-based Pagination: User clicking 'Cancel' is no longer reported as an unknown pagination error.
  • Guide-based Pagination: If a page is automatically inserted and pagination cannot continue due to lack of space, the page insertion will be rolled back.

Scripting

  • Fixes crash when paginating a single record
  • Fixes a problem where multiple pagination calls in the same script would sometimes queue up and execute when the script had finished.
