Your order was actually placed with our e-commerce provider who is based in the United States but registered for VAT within the EU (you should see that they have an ‘EU’ VAT ID shown at the bottom of the invoice). This is a special type of VAT registration that means they must charge VAT at the rate of the country of supply.
Business customers within the EU are not charged VAT — during the check-out process, you should have been given the opportunity to enter your EU VAT ID (it’s this EU VAT ID identifies you as a business customer). I’ve just checked your orders, and it looks like you didn’t enter this number, which is why VAT was charged.
To obtain a VAT refund, you should be able to do this through your local VAT office or contact eSellerate directly at:
with your order numbers, who may be able to offer a VAT refund on your order.
